About BC
BC is BC architects & studies & materials. BC stands for Brussels Cooperation and refers to the way BC has grown, rooted in place and people. We operate under three branches in Belgium: BC architects (architecture office), BC studies (education and research organisation), and BC materials (materials production).
BC is a hybrid practice that approaches “building” as a means for systemic change in the construction sector. We aim for bioregional, low-tech, circular, beautiful, and inclusive designs. Our approach combines thinking and making, carrying out activities such as community organisation, materials production, contracting, education, and prototyping. We seek to have a positive impact on people’s ideas and on the planet, acting on behalf of future generations.
BC studies is a non-profit research and education laboratory that explores the material environment through construction and production processes. BC studies focuses on education, consultancy, workshops, and published research.
