10.04.25

20:00—21:30
Academie van Bouwkunst

In 2025 and 2026, Arcam, in collaboration with the Academy of Architecture, will host a new series of 1Lectures focused on the annual program An Optimistic Contingency Plan.

Following the first lecture by landscape architect Dirk Sijmons, Mathieu Gontier, co-founder of the French firm Wagon Landscaping, will give a talk on Thursday, April 10 about Wagon Landscaping, which has built a fascinating track record in projects that impose restrictions on materials movement and limit energy consumption emphasizing recycling and ecological dynamics

I really wanted Wagon Landscaping to be part of this series of lectures. I find their work so optimistic, so full of hope and joy. It’s practical, hands on, reusing materials in an innovate way, resulting in an alternative aesthetic. Using methods often related to gardening, together with communities they create places for all forms of life.
Joost Emmerik, Head of Landscape Academy of Architecture Amsterdam
