During Architecture Day, Arcam opens the door to a different way of looking at our cities: through the world of Solarpunk. In this short workshop, you will be introduced to an eco-social, utopian future in which sustainability, community and imagination come together.
Thinking about the future with Solarpunk
Using different materials, Priscilla Haring will introduce you to what Solarpunk is. Through images, video and short stories, you will discover how this vision of the future relates to our current city and neighbourhood. Solarpunk shows how technology, nature and social justice are not opposites, but can together form a new way of living. Through this Solarpunk vision, you will engage in structured, positive future-thinking exercises.
You will then bring this future into form. At a craft table, materials are provided for you to create your ideal neighbourhood. If you wish, your result may become part of a one-week Architecture Day exhibition.
