Floating Futures
In the wake of SAIL, this edition of Barcam explores the future of building on water – a field that has seen extensive experimentation in recent years, both in the Netherlands and abroad. We’ll showcase leading examples and dive into the world of floating architecture.
Panel Members:
We’ll discuss it with Berend Strijland (partner at NLÉ), the firm behind the iconic Makoko Floating School in Lagos, Nigeria, and Jelle Vedder of Bartels & Vedder, specialists in building on water. Finally, Kaji But, CEO and owner of Sea Palace, Europe’s largest floating restaurant, will join the conversation.
What’s possible on water? What are the opportunities, challenges, and future prospects?
We’ll discuss these questions with a diverse panel, including Berend Strijland (partner at NLÉ), the firm behind the iconic Makoko Floating School in Lagos, Nigeria.
