Designing in Virtual Reality

This workshop by Kuba Jekiel during the Amsterdam Architecture Days is a sneak peek into the future of design, showcasing the use of immersive technologies in the process of forming spaces.

With virtual reality, we can jump into our creations while shaping them, control the scale and the environment, co-create with others remotely, mix the physical and digital worlds and fully use our bodies to shape the desirable results. Take part in an interactive session, during which you will witness a live process of VR creation and see the possibilities of this emerging technology.

Kuba Jekiel

Architect

Graduated and practicing as an architect, Kuba is fascinated by the impact of technology on everyday life and the possibilities that come with blending virtual and physical realms. He is an architect and innovator in Rijnboutt in Amsterdam, which combines architecture with urban and landscape design. Aside from work, Kuba teaches at various architecture schools and online learning platforms, where he introduces his students to immersive technologies on both theoretical and practical levels, by showing VR as a creation tool and speculating over the meaning of the metaverse.
