Arcam

From 16 October to 1 November 2026, an exhibition of Evening Drawings, the first graphic novel by architect Pero Puljiz (architect and former partner of de Architekten Cie.) will be on view at Arcam. The exhibition brings the drawings from the book to a different scale and places them in a spatial context. The animated film Seven Days of Sleepless Dreams, featuring selected drawings from the book will be on display througout the exhibition.

Why have I done it? I think it was a sort of trying to create a space for myself, where I could get rid of everything in my profession as an architect.

About the book

Jap Sam Books and de Architekten Cie. present Evening Drawings, the first graphic novel by Pero Puljiz, architect and former partner of de Architekten Cie. For the past fifteen years, Puljiz has been drawing an imaginary world alongside his work as an architect – detached from the reality of his profession. More than 100 black and white drawings and short notes come together in an associative universe of city landscapes, music, interiors, portraits and comics.

Evening Drawings will be published by Jap Sam Books on 15 October 2026.

In my professional life, I was making a lot of visualisations as well, but those drawings have never been visualisations of buildings. They’ve always been distorted; they would always present a reality which was not reality.
