Arcam
Seeing by touching

Start your visit to Arcam with the tactile model of the Arcam building. The tactile and audio model allows you to experience our pavilion using senses other than sight. The model is complemented by a model of the Marineterrein and the Oosterdok, with information about, among others, The National Maritime Museum, the Marineterrein, Mediamatic, and NEMO Science Museum.

Arcam has developed a tactile model of the Arcam building and its surroundings in collaboration with Hannes Wallrafen (artist + concept developer of the tactile model, Stichting Geluid in Zicht), Kaita Shinagawa (Studio KU+), and Robert Bosch (sound technician).

The tactile model was inspired by last year’s theme, “Architecture for Everyone,” which has now been realided in a brand new, more accessible Arcam gallery.

The tactile model offers everyone, and especially people with visual impairments, a multisensory experience, including urban audio fragments and audio stories about Arcam, the Oosterdok, and the Marineterrein.
