Managing Director
Indira van ’t Klooster is the Managing Director of Arcam, the Architecture Center of Amsterdam. Arcam programs at the intersection of architecture, politics, and society, focusing on reflection and information about the role of design and commissioning in a rapidly changing world. From this perspective, she is also involved in the selection process for the Slavery Museum and the annual Van der Vlis Lecture.
She is additionally a commissioner at NV Stadsherstel and founder/chair of the Stichting Coördinatie Lokale Architectuurinitiatieven (CoLA). Previously, she has worked as a program manager at Architectuur Lokaal and editor-in-chief at A10 New European Architecture. She has recently contributed to publications such as Welkom Thuis in de Stad van Morgen (Arcam, 2021), Formats for Living (Architectura & Natura, 2023), and Vrouwen in de Architectuur (nai010, 2023). She authored the book Reactivate! on young architects in times of crisis (2013) and researched European self-build communities in Radical Ruralities as a fellow at the Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen in Vienna (2017).
She has served on numerous juries and selection committees in the Netherlands (including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Arnhem, Groningen) and across Europe (including Austria, Scotland, Estonia, Italy, Hungary). She studied architectural history at the University of Amsterdam.

Marc Peperkamp is the living archive of Arcam. He has been working at Arcam for 25 years since June 2020. From property management to administration and volunteer coordination, Marc fulfills a connecting role in the organisation.

Femke Gerritsma
Communication manager and HR
Femke Gerritsma is an art historian and has worked in the field of communication and marketing in the cultural sector for almost 15 years. In 2013 she moved to London where she worked for two years as marketing manager at The Crafts Council which for forty years has aimed to promote the British craft sector in the UK and beyond. When she moved back to the Netherlands in 2015, she was able to immediately start working at Arcam as a communications manager.

Sjaan has been working at Arcam since the beginning of January 2023. With a big love for Amsterdam, Sjaan is trained as a urban geographer at the University of Amsterdam. She previously worked as Placemaker. In this position, she devised and produced cultural programs for the neighbourhood together with residents and external parties. As Programme maker at Arcam she is mainly concerned with the social aspects of the physical environment.

Since February 2023, Daphne Bouman has been working as a program maker at Arcam. Daphne has a background in urban planning, social geography, and heritage studies. She has previously worked as a project leader on spatial issues at Platform31, as a PR officer at ANA architects in Amsterdam, and as a policy advisor for Public Space at the municipality of Utrecht. At Arcam, she mainly focuses on urban challenges and transformations within the long-term development of Amsterdam, such as the interactieve Haven-Stad Model and the new Metropola Regional Architecture Platform.

Since May 2024, Andreas Nikolopoulos is part of Arcam as a program maker. He was born in Greece, where he also completed his architecture studies. His great love for the city of Amsterdam began in 2017 when he moved there. He has been active as an architect in international and Dutch architecture offices and has also collaborated with artists as a spatial designer in several exhibitions. Among his interests are oral history, vernacular architecture and the role of the architect in society.

Since October 2025, Imke has been working at Arcam as eventmanager. She has a background in art, culture, architecture and urban planning. In 2022, she graduated from the master’s program in Urban and Architectural History at the University of Amsterdam, where she focused on the interaction between social developments and urban changes. In addition, she enjoys being creative as an illustrator and designer. At Arcam, Imke is responsible for organiding and coordinating various events, venue rentals, and educational programs.

Intern Amsterdam Architecture Prize 2026 and Exhibitions
Since February 2026, Jan has been part of the Arcam team as an intern for the Amsterdam Architecture Prize 2026 and exhibitions. He is putting the interest and knowledge he developed during his Arts and Economics studies at the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) into practice at Arcam.
As a born and raised Amsterdammer, he is familiar with the stories, history, and beauty of the city. He is fascinated by the challenges of the future and the opportunities they present, and is curious to see what the city will look like in twenty years’ time

Intern Year Programma An Optimistic Disaster Plan 2026
Vera will be working as an intern at Arcam from February 2026. In 2023, she graduated with a Bachelor of Geography from the University of Bristol, where she focused on urban development and contemporary urban challenges. She is currently following a master’s in photography, where she captures these interests in a creative way. She has a broad interest in the built environment, particularly the role of urban planning within social and environmental issues.

Since February 2026, Fleur Zwaan has been working as an exhibition and program intern. With a background in Sociology, she has a strong fascination with the city’s social dynamics. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Museum Studies at the University of Amsterdam, where she focuses on presenting social and societal themes in exhibitions and making collections accessible to a broad audience. In addition, she has a strong interest in co-creation and in sharing Amsterdam’s diverse perspectives.
